The SSC (Staff Selection Commission) conducts exams for various posts coming under different ministries/departments in India. Some of these exams are the CGL (Combined Graduate Level) exam, Junior Engineer exam, Stenographers (Grade C and D) exam and more. These exams are conducted from time to time throughout the year. The SSC CGL Exam is conducted in a 4-tier procedure for Group B recruitment. The exam scores are used by most of the central government departments/ to recruit staff coming under Group B. The tentative dates for the SSC CGL Tier-1 exam are 25th July- 20th August, 2018 and dates for the rest of exams will be notified later.

SSC CGL Exam Syllabus 2018

This is one of the important exams held by the Staff Selection Commission every year. It's held in a 4-tier procedure. Tier-1 and tier-2 exams are computer based online tests. Tier- 2 Exam: Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics, General Studies (Finance and Economics).

Tier- 3 Exam: Is a descriptive exam where written skills of students are tested. They may have to write essays, précis, application, letter etc. in this exam.

Tier- 4 Exam: Includes Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) (These are held to test candidates applying for the posts of Tax Assistants, CSS, MEA, Inspector of Central Excise, etc.
